My son and I booked the Astoria hotel for 10 days. We had a nice surprise, the staff was extremely kind and helpful. We had a problem with the safe in our original room and immediatky the staff gave us a nice room with a safe . The bathroom was big , and the bed nice and cozy. We asked for a kosher breakfast, and we received delicious pastry, the kitchen staff spoiled us with delicious food and cake. And during the Shabbat the staff at the lobby walked with us to open the door for us , becaus there is only an automatic cardkey. In short, we had a very pleasant stay at the hotel.

So pleased I chose this hotel, mainly because of the reasonable price. Great location, walking distance from the Central Train Station. In the heart of the diamond district. We also walked to the main shopping centre and historical part of Antwerp, didn't need to use public transport at all. There is a nice park close to the hotel as well. The room was slightly antiquated but perfectly comfortable. Clean bathroom with bathtub which we weren't there long enough to use, but the shower was good. My only gripe was that the towels could have been a bit more luxurious. Breakfast was plentiful and good, could have had mehadrin kosher as well had I known Friendly helpful desk staff Would definitely stay again.

Terrible experience. Upon arriving in 29 degree European heat I was informed that the air conditioning in my room did not work, that they could/would not fix this problem and that no fans were on offer within the hotel. Upon asking the man on the front desk if they had any other alternatives I was told to "Think about Everest" as this would cool me down. Whilst I am sure said man chortled at this niche and clever remark - this was indeed red flag number one for me. The next day after minimal sleep in my personal sauna, and a horrific dribbling shower, which was at best suitable for a mouse with the pressure it was putting out I had a 16 hour work day. I returned to the hotel in the early hours of the morning. Exhausted, I took the lift the 4 floors to my room only to be met with red flashing lights and a door that would not open. Alas, I begrudgingly went down to the "24 hour" reception where low and behold an empty seat greets me. At this point I'm exhausted and annoyed. I call out for a few minutes trying to ascertain the location of the night manager in what can only be described as a cruel rendition of marco-polo (minus the call-back from polo). Eventually a bleary eyed manager (the same who made the Everest comment) appears from the depths of reception. He wanders over to me and makes a hand gesture/some grunt as if to say; 'what can I do for you?' Apologetically I explain that my key is not working and that I was sorry to disturb him but I needed to go to bed. He actually had the audacity to tell me I was "impatient". Not like it was his job to be on reception all night and to help guests with issues like this! I let the comment slide as I was too tired to argue with an elderly Belgian hotel manager and I head off to bed. In fairness there was now a fan in my room so the sauna became slightly more comfortable on my second and final night. All in all - a poor hotel with few current amenities and a grumpy night manager. For the price - look elsewhere!

Based in the jewellery district this unassuming hotel is ideal for a weekend break or business travel. A big positive is that the hotel ahs an underground car park. Our welcome into reception was wonderful and our rooms were issued efficiently and without any fuss. Our room was very clean and the bedroom was ideally equipped, including a kettle for instant coffee. The bed was comfortable. I could have done with another pillow. The shower was powerful, hot and satisfactory for a bathroom which was a bit tired and kitted out with small towels. The lifts were efficient which is a plus for a city centre hotel. There is no bar. We did not try the breakfast. Overall an ideal, value hotel for our city centre exploration of winter Antwerp.

The location is convenient to the station. The staff were very friendly and arranged for us to leave our bags as we arrived early. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was a bit worn and could do with a refresh. Overall it was a good hotel and value for money.
